Keezer Build - Walnut and Anigre

The materials cost was around $1500, I probably have 60+ plus hours into it as well. I'd need to get at least $5000 out of it to make it worthwhile. Granted a scaled down or simpler version could be made for less. I do dream of building these for a living but, I've got another business to run.

Veneering is tricky, I'd get a book at the library or something to read through. I use the 'cold press' technique where you slather the veneer in the cold press glue, attach it to the plywood substrate, and squeeze the air bubbles out. You them sandwich that between two thick sheets of plywood...

I can't say... my wife may read this. But I think around $700 for the materials, wood, parts. etc. $350 freezer, maybe $500 for taps and hardware mostly that I already had.

The legs are not actually bent, but cut out of a larger blank - It was 5" wide and the leg width is 2" only the curve. I first made a template on the band saw and smoothed it out with a sander. I used the template to make all the legs the same - rough cut on the bandsaw and used a pattern...

Thanks for the kind words. As far as the springs: The mounting brackets were separate, purchased from the same vendor on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004716UFM/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00470ZMHU/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 They have...

Except for a couple more coats of finish and custom tap handles, she is finally finished! The veneering of the panels and getting the curves of the legs laid out just right took some time, but I really like the how it turned out. The air flows up through the sides well and the skirt is...

Hopping a Brett B Belgian dIPA

I love that beer. Your recipe looks great, I love the Ardennes yeast for BIPAs. I await the results. What was your IBU?

That would be cool! More pictures to follow tonight. Too many pints of our club's Dry stout last night on tap at Eugene's Rogue brewery to get the pics on.

14.8 cu ft Maytag from HD: http://www.homedepot.com/buy/maytag-14-8-cu-ft-chest-freezer-in-white-220941.html The maytags are great because the compressor hump is just in one corner rather than all the way across. It will fit 9 kegs easily.

I'll take some other pictures of the spring mounts tonight. They are mounted to a 'frame' that is 3 boards - very dense 1" beech. The boards are lap jointed at the corner (very strong). The vertical board is attached to the base with a block of wood and screws. The horizontal board is a attached...

Well, I've got all 8 taps flowing now. Two CO2 manifolds are mounted under the lid. I've got the coffin insulated and the fan circulating air through. It seems to keep the beer lines fairly cool. I went with the gas lift-assist springs. Can't beat $25 for a pair...

    Kegerator Parts

You really don't need a regulator for each keg. Go with a manifold. I've just shopped around for myself and Beverage Factory has had the best prices and fairly cheap shipping. Manifold: http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/regulator/distributors/aluminum_six_way_air_distributor.shtml...

    Shank question

I just ordered some perlick and 4 inch shank combos from beveragefactory for $46. Best price I could find for the combo. Chrome shanks are fine, but go with the stainless faucet - 525SS. http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/faucets/faucets/EB525SSSHANK4___17455.shtml

Okay, the kids were over their sickness this weekend so I got some time to work on this. I've got the top about ready to put on the freezer. The veneered sides are on, the top is on - from a real great marbled walnut board. I just need to get the foam cut and the taps installed. (And see if I...
