I just got a Blichmann Beer Gun and I have a quick question. I'm planning on kegging and carbonating, then bottling as needed. How many bottles do you typically fill before capping them? Do you stop and cap after each bottle? I guess I'm not sure how quickly the carbonation in the beer will drop...

I read up on temp correction in refract and wasn't very impressed. They still need to be calibrated at the correct temp and the sample needs to be at least close to that temp. Wide variations in temp will still introduce errors.
Also keep mind if you are brewing in very high or very low ambient...
I'm not sure what else your system has but really the only reason for using a false bottom in a BIAB system that I can see would be to keep the bag off of the bottom of the kettle so it won't scorch if you add heat for a step mash.

If the inside thermometer is saying 34F and your controller is set for that general temp then my next thought is your wife needs to stop drinking yellow fizzy stuff at the corner bar advertising the coldest beer in town! 😄

Do you have a thermometer in the freezer? What is the actual temp? The Johnson controller usually works pretty well.... Is your freezer working?
