Brewed a pilsner yesterday and about 40 mins into the boil I realized I never added the calcium chloride in my (RO) water addition. Oh well. We'll see how this one turns out!

I am looking at picking up an Inkbird IBS-TH1 to monitor my mash temps and/or my wort temp when I start cooling but was wondering if the external probe would be OK in hot liquid. I know it says it measures up to 212 but would the cord withstand those types of temps?

I miss KISS. I started with BIAB because it was simple, fun amd my beer was pretty good. I liked it. My friends liked it. My family liked it.
Then I started tweaking this, adding that, buying more gear, chasing LODO, etc.
It wasn’t fun anymore, I got busy and pretty much checked out...
I routinely brew in flip flops in the summer months.
And one thing I seem to do EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. is sit the kettle on the ground for cleaning and then hit my toe on the darn ball valve.
