Sorry for the late reply... But you are not writing code, you are improving your brew technic. LOL Doubt my ol lady would buy that either if I were in your shoes.

    Anyone use WLP051?

Oh...the wort was maybe 85 tops. I brewed it first and cooled it down to under 90 while I brewed the cream ale. Pitched yeast at same time, but the added vial was at least 24 hours later than the cream ale.

    Anyone use WLP051?

Haven't taken a gravity reading yet...I will give it more time. I have it in a closet at about 79 to 80. I have a cream ale brewed same day back to back. It has WLP080 and has been going for 3 solid days. I doubt the fat tire is bad or the yeast is bad, just wondering if someone saw a quick...

    Anyone use WLP051?

This is my second time to use WLP051 and the second time the airlock showed activity for only 1 day. I had saved some from my first batch and decided to reuse. I washed the yeast and am not sure what I should look for, as you can see in the attached pic, there is a bright / light color on the...

    Question on infection

I didn't get a pic...need to remember to, will to much yeast mess up a brew, like make it sour or smell sour? It was a very light film, not even 3/4 wide on the bucket. Just smelled sour, figured the taste may be because it was young.

    Question on infection

Brewed a honey blond last week. I used washed yeast from my last batch of brew as they both called for wlp051. It seemed to ferment way to fast, like less than 2 days, so I opened the bucket and pitched more, only 1 more night. I decided to move the first batch to keg and the honey blonde to...

    Question on recipe

Thanks guys...I figured it was early. My only concern is, I have always used glass to ferment in and have read plastic as a secondary can be bad because plastic leeches O2. I did not know if this was the reason for the quick move.

    Question on recipe

Am doing a Delirium recipe. It is a pretty big brew. The recipe says to secondary after 7 days. That seems a little soon as there is still plenty of activity, bubbling less than 15 seconds. I am using a fermenting bucket, 1st time with a bucket, my old kit had 2 5 gallon carboys and my brews...

    Wanting a very Golden Belgian

Am playing with pro mash. I wanted to try to get a very light gold big brew. Below is what I came up with. I was wondering what anyone thought. 7 lb Extra Light LME 2 lb Clear candi sugar 1.5 lb Pilsner 1.25 lb Caramel Pils malt 1 lb Wheat Malt .50 Munich malt .25 Aromatic malt 1.5 oz Saaz .75...
