    Anyone buy from Beverage Factory?

Can you be more specific about what you ordered and what didn't match your expectations? It might help others.

    "Kolsch" Variant

I ended up raising the hop addition to achieve about 21 IBU's, and then when I bought the ingredients, found the AA's on the hops to be a bit lower than beersmith estimated. Using what I had on-hand, I added 1oz of Cluster, to bring it back up to 21-22 IBUs. And I delayed 1oz of the...

    "Kolsch" Variant

Thanks. I appreciate the input. I'll likely drop the wheat down and it sounds like the bitterness should go up a notch. I was considering a small 30 minute or 15 minute addition to maybe get a tiny bit of hop flavor/aroma.

    "Kolsch" Variant

I don't know properly what style this would be, but I wanted to design a recipe that had the crispness of a kolsch but with a bit more biscuit / maltiness without a lot of hoppiness. I had a crisp, clean jamaican lager without much bitterness a few years back that I really want to recreate...

    Best brewing thermometer?

The wires are thin but pretty rigid. I do find that I need to manipulate it to make sure it's not resting on the bottom. But usually, my bigger concern is with the part of the cable that's outside the pot. I try to drap it across to the propane tank so that it isn't too close to the fire, but so...

    Sanitize beer caps?

This is a lesson I learned once. I ruined a lot of caps by putting some damp ones back with the others, and next time I went to bottle a good portion of them had rust on them. Make sure they're completely dry before you return them to the bag.

    Rotating kegs

I've done this a few times. Utility room is about 65 ambient, and the concrete floor has to drop that about 5 degrees. This is the reason I did it. I had a young beer that needed some time, so I took it out of the kegerator and let it age for another month or two in the storage room. When I...

    Portable Draft Beer

What are you doing to prevent foam?

Using poor man's methods, but getting good results. Should I invest more effort?

I'm with the others. You can get as advanced as you want. Many things will contribute to slightly better beer, but mostly, they'll contribute to consistent beer. At this point in my homebrewing, I could care less about consistency, so I'm willing to take shortcuts. The sacrifice, of course...

    Little carbonation problem

Almost definitely not. You'll likely do more harm than good. This is what you should do. After two weeks, your yeast may simply not have woken up enough, or the co2 hasn't dissolved yet. Give them more time to properly carb the beer, and then make sure they're refrigerated long enough to...

    Writing on Bottles

Sharpie on the lid for me. However, to kick it up a notch I've etched a logo on a small number of bottles. Those look fantastic, but I never got around to doing the rest of them.

    Critique my unusual hop IPA

BeerSmith 2 puts this just into the Imperial IPA category: 64.4 IBU's Target OG: 1.077 Target FG: 1.019 Est ABV: 7.6% Will probably split this between two yeasts in 5gal batches, probably nottingham and either US-05 or S-04, though I might go further out there with something like a Belgian...

Converting volumes of CO2 to PSI?

This math seems way too easy/magical to be true. It also doesn't take into account existing co2 in solution, which has to play a role (otherwise you could store an infinite amount of co2 in beer, since you could repeat the above procedure as nauseun).

    Regulator - do I need another o-ring

How about the original question? With a connection as displayed, do you put another o-ring/gasket in your connection from the tank to the regulator?

    Keg post question

Homebrewfinds.com led me to this wrench from sears which has both. I've only need one so far, but am happy to have a single tool for other used kegs I might buy.
