So I got two 5 gal carboys of amber that have been in secondary since 1/30/12. So like a 43 day secondary. Is this still going to be good to bottle? Or should I just pour it out? I brewed them on 1/10/12 .
This is after about 20 hours... There is really not much going on. I put 3/4 cup LME and 1000ml of water. Boil for 15 min. Cooled to 75. And then pitched white labs British ale yeast.
So I bought a vile of white labs yeast and put it in the fridge. Well it seem that it was sitting a little to far in the back and got a little cold. I pulled the vile out and it was like a slushy. Is it all over? Is there still hope for this yeast?

Sorry I'm on my phone and the search will not work. Two week ago I brewed up a heff. One question. I mashed my grain bill in 5gals of water at 150 for 30 min. My question is: when mashing the grains it is ok to use a full 5 gals right?

As for the experiment: maybe try the same thing but use sugars such as honey, molasses, maybe try agave nectar? And maybe try different strands of yeast?
