Got it, I must have misunderstood. So essentially if I want to ferment at a temp in the 60's I'll find that freezer isn't very freezy b/c it's the same compressor for the fridge, and the controller will keep cutting power when the fridge it at the warmer temp. But if I am setting it to a colder...
Make sense. Right now a fermentation chamber is the most important. I do have a good friend that is a realtor and he comes across fridges every once in a while so I think I'll hold out to get a double door unit and convert it like the thread that was posted above.

So let me ask you this then. The Lowes by me has a small chest freezer that is dented for $50 brand new. It would hold perfectly one 5-10 gallon brew but now much more. Would that be the better route for fermenting and just convert the fridge to a kegerator?
