Hmm, we sparged to a pre boil volume of 12.7G, which we brought down to 11G in 60 min. Actually lost about 1/2G when we had a tubing fail to the chiller & I guess the hops absorbed the rest.

Used this program yesterday for the first time. I thought it was great. The hop addition screen is actually quite useful to view where you are in the boil and what's coming. I've been on the hunt for a multi step timer for a long time and my hunt ends now. Plus...it's free. Thanks so much Jon S...

Brewed this yesterday. As this was our first 10G batch it may have suffered slightly from the strangeness of the new process. We ended up with a much higher OG than what is specified in the recipe (1.046 vs. 1.038) and I'm baffled to explain it. The only thing that we varied (not intentionally)...

Yeah, I thought it over and figured I better make the actual recipe first before I go tweaking it. Brewed Saturday and missed OG by a few points. Oh well, I'm sure it'll still be tasty. Fermentation is currently rockin' with a 2 day starter.

This recipe sounds great & I will be attempting it this weekend. Any thoughts on what an addition of a little honey at flameout might do? Is that too weird?

I am just about to harvest my first year's crop of hops. It looks like I'll have about a pound+ of wet Cascade & maybe a 1/4 pound of Nugget. My Goldings didn't fruit at all. Do you think we could get by with just the nugget & cascades if we did the above recipe? Or should we throw in some dry...

So how did this turn out? I'm looking at harvesting my first year Cascades and I need a good fresh hop recipe. Also, any thoughts on mixing fresh & dried hops if the yield is not high enough?
