    Upside Down Keggles?

Subbed. Love the idea of the etching. I was just looking to buy sight glasses but I think I will go with etching instead.

    advice, 1 gallon brewing

1 gallon brews give you the opportunity to practice with your procedures and recipes. Since you brew more to keep up with stocks you get your procedures down pat a lot faster. You also get to experiment with recipes. If you make a bad one you only have 1 gallon to drink.

    Brewing Disaster

Atleast I am not the only one. Just a pain in the arse since I spend alot of time to do small batches when I loose it.

Adding flavours to my pale ale.

It all has to do with personal preferance and the type of beer you make.

    Old Notebook... What to do

If you were able to integrate some form of controlling hardware this is very possible. Something like this ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0054U4YKI/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20) will allow you to monitor what is happening.

Adding flavours to my pale ale.

Use the lemon sparingly. I found 1 lemon per gallon too much for the beer I made.

    Brewing Disaster

Hi All, Just having a little vent. Everytime I brew a specific recipe it just ends in disaster. I have been brewing for roughly 5 years now and 2 years of them have been only brewing all grain so I have the procedure down fairly well on my equipment. My 3rd AG brew in I decided to try to make...

    Got my RasberryPi

Nice. I wonder if arduino is able to measure gravity somehow. That would be a nice record to have.

    Got my RasberryPi

What are you looking at doing with it. My plan (when I receive an arduino) is to try and automate my kettles and mash tun. One day I might look at setting one up as a temp automation and recording tool for fermentation.

How bad did I screw up?

Your beer will be fine. I still don't rehydrate my dry yeasts and my beers turn out fine. I have heard it is supposed to help kick off fermentation but I am lazy.

    Which choice (fermentation temp)?

I know you are worried with the extra effort and the sloshing but any sloshing isn't going to cause an issue before fermenting.

advice on using new carboy and new keg

I quite often add priming sugar to my kegs if I am storing them for a long time. I however half the amount of sugar that is needed for bottles. If I am force carbing I hook up the gas bottle, put some gas in the keg and pull the ring a couple of times (get the oxygen out of the keg), turn the...

    brand new keggles

I am currently in the process myself. I cut the top for the following reasons. - my kegs had handles at the top. - Kegs have a rounded bottom (great for collecting trub or draining every last drop) - It will remove that pesky dip tube. For my mash tun I am looking at putting the ball valve on...

    Original Gravity Question

I think the alcohol will be more like 9% as well since you are missing .2 of a gallon.

    My New Electric HERMS Build

Quick question as I am slowly building something similar, would it be better to drain the MT from under the false bottom. Just thinking of being able to drain more liquid.
