    Seasonal swings in water report

Just spent some time with Bru'n Water. On the "water adjustment" page half the adjustments are red... which means I'm gonna need to dilute my water down anyway, so I guess I will just buy a small RO unit, and continue building from scratch.

    Seasonal swings in water report

So I am moving across the country, and have downloaded a water report. Where I currently live, the tap water doesn't taste good so I have been using RO water. Been hoping to use tap water where I'm moving (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan). This attached water report is from 2012 (I plan on getting a...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

As a Canadian I take offence to this article. Calling Canadians bland? The nerve of some people :p At least we have better beer here ;)

    "PID"-ish HLT Control

Well, I guess some goofing around is in order. As soon as I move I will set up my HLT and try a few different chunks of code. Glad to hear others don't think I'm out to lunch, and I can move on to coding more "fun" aspects of my project

    "PID"-ish HLT Control

Kind of what I figured. I started reading how PID works, but then my eyes glazed over... I'm smart enough to understand it, just too lazy to try :cross: I figure that since it's not linear as it approaches the setpoint it should be ok. It's a matter of finding the correct "min" so that it...

    "PID"-ish HLT Control

I am building an e-herms brewery similar to Kal's design. I have made a lot of changes, but I like his workflow and am emulating that. Being the geek that I am (and I suppose most people who spend time in the Automated Brewing Forum are), I am not satisfied with using an off the shelf PID...

    20g Stout/Kal Build and Bar

How does the price of the 3 tanks compare to Stout's regular price on those? What you ordered from him is pretty much exactly what I would want to order...

How many gallons of BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde have been brewed?

    5492 + 5 = 5497 Brewed a few months ago, and forgot to post!

    Keezer collar hinge issue

I know this thread is really old, but what did you wind up doing with your hinges? I'm pretty sure I have the exact same old school freezer, and I just put a 2x4 collar on it and am worried about the bottom holes

    PEX for low pressure gas

Has anyone ever used PEX (residential water pipe) for a gas manifold? Found lots of threads regarding using it for brewing equipment, but I am trying to put a kegerator together and get creative. Water shutoffs are like $3, and the T's and stuff are super cheap. I would think that it would...

Bottling stout from keg at room temperature

So... I have a small kegerator, and am currently enjoying ales. What I really want to do though, is do up a nice stout. Only problem is that I don't really want to invest in a nitro setup, and I also don't want to use up one of my two taps for a beer that I will only want to drink...

Old commercial brass taps - should i use them?

So I have done lots of searching and reading, and have come to the conclusion that chromed brass (with the internal chrome worn off) can impart a metallic taste in my beer. So I have a fairly nice beer tower that I got a good deal on from a restaurant that went out of business. Has two...

Innis & Gunn Rum Cask (add rum?)

Figured I would throw this in here instead of making a new thread. I pieced together some bits and pieces from around the internet, and brewed up this recipe last weekend, hoping it will hit the I&G Rum Cask pretty closely (it tasted amazing going into the fermenter). Innis and Gunnish - Rum...

    Arduino Kegerator Temperature Controller

Ya, I was trying to tape it to the keg, but duct tape wouldnt stick to the cold metal, and I was too lazy to get an elastic or something. Tomorrow I guess. Ya, I build stupid little electronic "things" pretty frequently, it's so cheap, and much more fun than buying something. Only problem...

    Arduino Kegerator Temperature Controller

Ya, I was thinking about making it adjustable, but didn't bother. I actually dont have buttons or anything for adjusting the temperature, since I dont know how I'm going to mount it... I'm just shorting pins right now to adjust it :drunk:. I'm hoping it doesn't run too frequently at 1 degree...
