I seem to be having the same problem. I bottled two weeks ago and there is absolutly no carbonation. I used 1 1/8 cup of priming sugar for a 5 gallon batch. When i open the bottle it makes a tsst sound but no head what so ever! does higher alcohol beer take longer? does liquid yeast take longer...
Very nice catches. I have tried the whole catfish thing (as well as bass and carp) but around my parts i have only been able to catch bullheaded catfish (portland OR). I guess it is too cold around here.
Sounds like i would get along with you great, i love the drop top!:mug: I have been wanting to get into kegging for sometime but as someone already pointed out "homebrewers are tightwads". right now i got an amber ale in my secondary and will be bottling here this weekend. You want to do a beer...
First off i would have to say that this batch is going like crazy. I hit peak fermentation at 36 hours. 1 bubble every 1.5 seconds. This continued for 2 1/2 days at this rate. Then it dropped to 1 bubble every 7 seconds and stayed there for 3 days. Meanwhile almost 3" of krausen developed on the...
Well i know that most of these are only available on the west coast but here is a few to add to the list:
Widmer- drop top, snow plow
Bridgeport- ropewalk (amber ale)
New belgium brewery- 1554 (since fat tire is allready listed)
Westmalle- Dubbel
Pabst Blue Ribbon ( just joking)

Well i started my first batch of beer in a couple years last night and for the first time i am using liquid yeast. I have a quik question about liguid yeast and temps. I did not use a starter as i probably should have. I used Wyeast 1056 and i popped the little bag inside. I let it sit for about...
Hmm, i dont know the difference between L.M.E. or D.M.E.. This is only my 7th batch of beer and i am still a begginer. I went to the brewshop and bought "9lb amber extract syrup". I cooked it up tonite and it tasted pretty good thus far. I know the flavor will change a lot but i think that this...
I was mistaken about the yeast, I think i used nottinghams in the past (cant really remember, i know it was dry though) I went with wyeast 1056 liquid yeast, hopefully it will be allright. thanks everyone for your help.
