Thanks all especially doc and fermentingNEthing! I did the dye and no leaks, pressure tested and they passed. Upon close examination I see that the rubber HAD pulled away from the metal and it WAS just holding water that spilled in as I filled it. Glad I posted
Yeah it's not leaking anywhere near the poppet. It's just under ambient pressure and it seems water is coming from where the rubber on the bottom meets the metal. I would pressurize but these are pin lock and I only have ball lock connectors at the moment. I'll look into this water being held...
Hey guys I am very disappointed to find out that two of the corny kegs I just bought are leaking. I filled them with water and the water was trickling out of where the rubber and metal meets at the bottom. Is there anything I can do to fix them so they will hold pressure and beer?
I do the same thing it works great!
Make sure when you put in your valve that you put it on the side with the handle that way you can grab the handle on the opposite side to pour the last bit of wort out (I don't have a dip tube inside mine but tipping works great) also very important, if the...
Here's a shot of the bag
Upon close examination it seems that the powder, lupulin is all associated with the central vein inside the cone where I know the glands are.
Dan I actually live in Washington state. Not down under, not sure why you'd think that. Thanks to everyone else, I didn't know lupulin dried into a powder. But that would make sense. I've just never seen it on commercial bought hops. BSo you think it will just dissolve in the wort?
Hey guys I was just given a large quantity of wild hops and they are covered in what looks like pollen. How do you suggest I take care of this so that pollen is not floating in my beer. Thanks!
60sd, that IPA sounds awesome! I will def smell them I'm glad to know that that is a pretty good indicator of flavor. Richbenn I like the idea of boiling small amounts of hop tea and tasting it I think I'll do that before. I'm thinking I'll make this an imperial IPA and thinking of using some...
Thanks for all of the good ideas. Yeah i'm pretty excited myself to be given this opportunity with the mystery hops. I really want the flavor of the mystery hop to stand out so I can tell what flavor it brings on its own. This said, that's my only reluctance in not using any other type of hop...
