    leaking corny keg at rubber

Thanks all especially doc and fermentingNEthing! I did the dye and no leaks, pressure tested and they passed. Upon close examination I see that the rubber HAD pulled away from the metal and it WAS just holding water that spilled in as I filled it. Glad I posted

    leaking corny keg at rubber

Yeah it's not leaking anywhere near the poppet. It's just under ambient pressure and it seems water is coming from where the rubber on the bottom meets the metal. I would pressurize but these are pin lock and I only have ball lock connectors at the moment. I'll look into this water being held...

    leaking corny keg at rubber

Hey guys I am very disappointed to find out that two of the corny kegs I just bought are leaking. I filled them with water and the water was trickling out of where the rubber and metal meets at the bottom. Is there anything I can do to fix them so they will hold pressure and beer?

    Looking for some Keggle advise

I do the same thing it works great! Make sure when you put in your valve that you put it on the side with the handle that way you can grab the handle on the opposite side to pour the last bit of wort out (I don't have a dip tube inside mine but tipping works great) also very important, if the...

wild hops with pollen on them

Here's a shot of the bag Upon close examination it seems that the powder, lupulin is all associated with the central vein inside the cone where I know the glands are.

wild hops with pollen on them

Dan I actually live in Washington state. Not down under, not sure why you'd think that. Thanks to everyone else, I didn't know lupulin dried into a powder. But that would make sense. I've just never seen it on commercial bought hops. BSo you think it will just dissolve in the wort?

wild hops with pollen on them

Hey guys I was just given a large quantity of wild hops and they are covered in what looks like pollen. How do you suggest I take care of this so that pollen is not floating in my beer. Thanks!

making IPA high hop flavor without overpowering bitterness

60sd, that IPA sounds awesome! I will def smell them I'm glad to know that that is a pretty good indicator of flavor. Richbenn I like the idea of boiling small amounts of hop tea and tasting it I think I'll do that before. I'm thinking I'll make this an imperial IPA and thinking of using some...

making IPA high hop flavor without overpowering bitterness

Thanks for all of the good ideas. Yeah i'm pretty excited myself to be given this opportunity with the mystery hops. I really want the flavor of the mystery hop to stand out so I can tell what flavor it brings on its own. This said, that's my only reluctance in not using any other type of hop...

making IPA high hop flavor without overpowering bitterness

I think I like the idea of adventure and not knowing. I'm thinking one ounce at 60 then like 4 or 5 Oz at 20 min plus dry hop. Sound crazy?

making IPA high hop flavor without overpowering bitterness

Hey guys I am planning on brewing my first all grain IPA with whole leaf hops. I want to get a lot of hop flavor and aroma skunky and citrusy without it being way too bitter.(like pyramid outburst IPA) how do I go about doing this? By adding a small amount at 60 and a larger amount closer to the...

when to add sugar to boost my alcohol chocolate stout

The stout turned out great! The 9 Oz of candy cane dissolved in a pint of water gave it a nice mint finish without overpowering the chocolate malt. The only problem I had was that it was a little "thin" as far as body but that could be because the fg was 1.006

    pushing FG lower

as far as this, I tried this with my cider to make Applejack but it didn't work very well. I applaud your curiosity but I don't think I'll be freezing my beer any time soon. That's going to basically separate the ethanol from everything else and I'm not trying to make liquor...this time. Thanks...

    pushing FG lower

That sounds good! Yeah I'm brewing a candy cane chocolate stout right now and added the candy cane at that point. Similar idea. We'll see how it turns out
