    Dry Hop Question

When dry-hopping in the keg, is there any advantage sinking them to bottom or letting them float at top in hop bag? I would be concerned with the hops getting stuck in the dip tube when pouring beer? Will the bag without marbles or any other weight sink eventually anyway?

    WLP007 slow to finish

I just finished my DIPA using 007. OG was 1.060 and I finished at 1.015. I think if I was patient it would have dropped to 1.012 or 1.010, but alas I was not. But I will say from 1.060 to 1.015 it took only 5 days. Nice.... I fermented at 62-63 degrees for the 5 days. I think the yeast...

    Yeast Ranching

Another idea I had after reading some other threads, that I didn't read in the other threads but I think would be a good idea, would be to take a CO2 bottle and just blast them once the yeast vials are at 33ish 32ish degrees to freeze all yeast in suspension immediately after shaking, then place...

    Yeast Ranching

I just salvaged the yeast (WLP007) from carboy today. I had a few questions: 1) I could keep my Keezer at 33 to 34 degrees using my temp controller, on the verge of freezing, but not quite. Anyone else doing this vice freezing? Would this be considered medium term storage, under the...

    Ruthless Rye

Drinking it now, its very good! However, there are many IPAs that I'd rather be drinking and buying instead. That said, I've never had a Rye IPA before, so I am now interested in checking out some of the other Rye beers. Love SN and this is one of their better beers IMO. I'd recommend this...

Did I let in oxygen into keg?

I did purge my secondary (6 Gal Carboy) for my other brew I have going, so I learned that trick, just a little late. I started both brews 1 day apart. I took a shot of my Belgian Dubbel that is done fermenting today and I thought, oh, nice... feels like the ABV may be nice and high. Besides...

Did I let in oxygen into keg?

During the siphon from secondary to my keg I used a hose on my racking cane that was a little too big and this resulted in letting a good amount of air into the beer during the siphon. I also understand that much the reason to siphon would be to not let in air. I am not sure of the...
