I bought a giant round clamp to hold down the plastic lid that seems to just sit on the top opening. Is this necessary? Can i just leave the plastic lid sit there with no clamp?
thanks
I realize you are building a Keezer, but I haven't converted my fridge in the garage to a full Keezer. I have everything inside and when I pour a beer, I reach in and grab the picnic taps I installed. I was able to keep the lines at 2.5 feet by adding those spiral shanks you insert down the...
Always be careful when heating area with Propane. I have been at parties that used a propane heater to keep the garge heated but didn't vent a door and the CO2 detectors screamed.
I have boiled in the garage with the side door open a crack letting good air in and haven't had any issues...
My first batch of beet tasted great and I wished I made 480 bottles not 48.
I just popped 2 beers into the fridge the other night and last night tasted it. It looked good, and had a good head. Didn't smell as nice as the first batch but close enough. Also had plenty of bubbles. Once I...
There is also a little shop up where I live called Crystal Lake Health Food Store. Crystal Lake Health Food Store
Its a health food store but the owner got into home brewing. They made the upstairs a home brew heaven. Its not as big as St Charles but has a good selection of ingredients and...
I found a posting of how to do everything with out all the equipemnt. I pulled the bag out of the water after 60 minutes and drained as best I could. Moved it to another pot that I heated to 180 degrees and turned heat off. Sat in there for 10 minutes and drained again. Put the two batches...
Did my first AG batch this past Saturday. It was quite interesting. I didn't use the cooler method but the giant nylon bag and boil route. It seemed easy enough and I am trying not spend entire paychecks on brewing beer. Its only my 3rd batch total. Went from all extract, to partial and now...
I bought a turkey fryer because I have a electric stove and it takes forever to get water boiling. I priced out stainless steel pots and found I could get the pot and fryer for the same price. For me it was a no brainer and I did my first batch in it 2 weeks ago and bottled it tonight.
Oh...
Glad to be a part of such a wonderful group of people. I just put my first ever batch of Hefe in the fridge. Tried one yesterday and it was just perfect. I already have my second batch of Hefe but different recipe in the fermenter.
