    Impeller, Agitation, Kegging

Lab indeed, I've just been through your eKeggle BIAB posts, very interesting. My brewing has a parsimonious factor, when I stop noticing the difference I stop paying for the difference. If one pump can do several jobs and not damage the beer (presently made with no pump) the expense will be...

    Impeller, Agitation, Kegging

Until very recently I had no idea pumps combined science, technology and the dark arts in such an arcane manner. I figured they were selected for flow, pressure and a few variables for viscosity, temperature, distance, specific gravity, etcetera to move liquids from point A to point B...

    Impeller, Agitation, Kegging

While reviewing various pumps I learned impeller units shouldn't be used in conjunction with filters for transferring un-carbonated beer to kegs as there is too much agitation. What is the effect of too much agitation at that stage? Are diaphragm pumps a good solution for general brewing use?

    Stupid Time Change

I learned a timely lesson while traveling years ago. I asked the departure time of a train at a ticket window and was told 'how could I know, it hasn't arrived yet'. I still like the convenience of specifics but time is like location, as long as everyone agrees the coordinates don't matter...

Drinking beer at 7 in the morning

For me as long as it's not a problem, it's not a problem. If I have a problem with the direction I'm taking I ask myself why I'm going there and address that.

Molson Canadian or Labatt's Blue recipe

The burn-blue-leave-the-glass-clean screech is an experience for sure, the ouzo in Palaiochora, Crete was a contender. I spent a few months there (part of me never left) when time was endless and there were no rental accommodations.

Molson Canadian or Labatt's Blue recipe

Sometimes experience makes the beer rather than the other way round. Newfoundland is a place that can do that.

    Milk stout twang?

I know that flavor, milk stout as a result is the only special reserve beer I've made. It's reserved for special tasks like catching garden slugs. I am not certain of the source of the flavor but considering the rest of the ingredients are commonly used in other brews for me the right amount is...

New post a picture of your pint

That's good to know. I just made a recipe downloaded from BeerSmith, (probably did some substitution, may have added Irish Moss) and was happy with the results. I was actually shooting for clear not knowing any better. Apparently the head needs a lot of work as well -...

It's the flour-covered couche I was using to make bread.

    best place for supplies: Canada

I used to wonder how I could get the prices and variety available south of the border but over the last year or two Canada has become home to new, more enthusiastic suppliers whose success enables them to stock ample product. Ontario Beer Kegs does a great job and can have well-priced product...

    Supplier - Fromagex

Has anyone tried Fromagex - http://www.fromagex.com/can/english/ ? I am waiting for my first order. They have the largest selection I have seen anywhere, their prices are good and the shipping is reasonable. (They sell in U.S. dollars as well.) I prefer their culture package sizes as I get...
