Would it be possible to use EdWort's Apfelwein recipe with other juice, assuming that it is additive free? I was thinking about making a batch with either cranberry or orange juice to see what would happen. Would I have any success?
At my local bev center, I just saw a 24 pack "sampler" of Genesse (8x Cream Ale, 8x Genny Red, 8x Genny 12 Horse) for $9.99. It's called the "Heritage Collection." Hah!

Yea, if I can't get the smell out with a 1/2 water 1/2 vinegar soak overnight, I'll do a bleach solution. How diluted should I make it? And is there any problem with soaking the metal along with it, or should I take off the metal parts?
We're getting ready to keg our first brew, and we're working with a ball-lock corny leg that was given to us. The liquid dip tube and the lid had a really nasty smell that I assumed was the o-rings, so I got rid of them. I just did an overnight PBW soak and the smell is gone from the dip tube...
So, we have a container of Oxyclean Free (generic) and it has solidified into a solid "clump" (the same happened to an earlier container of EasyClean one time. Is there a better way to "unclump" it than by just stabbing it with a knife?
I'm interested in switching from extract to all-grain, but I want to spend as little as possible on the conversion. Would it be feasible to just get a large grain bag an switch to 2.5g batches of all grain BIAB until I can upgrade my setup? What else would I need?
