Imperial Stout Russian Imperial Stout (2011 HBT Competition Category Winner)

Brewed this on 7/20/2013 and aged in keg until 2/2/2014 for the Superbowl. Everyone liked this beer! Very mellow flavor. Only one person thought it was bitter and he was drinking my Sweet Stout prior to tasting this beer. I will brew this one again very soon and let it age until next...

First Time home kegger, Sweet Painted Lady!

Nice! I lust after one of 8 tap Keezers like this one https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/upright-keezer-8-taps-11-kegs-371438/ Will have to settle for building my 4 tap setup in a side by side refrigerator this weekend. I thought 4 would be enough but now I want 8 and I could see a chest...

    Wisconsin Ball Lock Corny Kegs

I bought 4 from Jon about 3 weeks ago. Good condition kegs. Some syrup in them and needed a good cleaning to get stickers and gunk off them.

Moving to bigger beers and batches ?s

Brewitt, it is your article on freezing yeast combined with Brulosopher's article on Harvesting Yeast from starters and another post about creating a starter and splitting it into 5 batches that has me thinking I could save enough money over time to pay for a keggle or two. I hope to make a RIS...

How many of us roast our own grains?

Sounds interesting. Would a coffee roaster work or is it too hot? I suppose one could try it for the cost of 1lb of 2 row it wouldn't break your bank and its not like the final product couldn't be used unless burnt.

Moving to bigger beers and batches ?s

Thanks for the reply. The keggle idea has crossed my mine especially when I read the threads regarding polishing the kegs. Lots of work but boy they look sweet! If I go that route then I need to decide on the hardware. I have the angle grinder and diamond blade to cut the lid out and even...

I went "pro" - What it actually takes to do so

Just read the entire thread, great read! As others have said and many more will surely agree, "can we live vicariously through you?" 99% of us do not have the kahonas (read conicals) to take on the bureaucracy and up front costs just to possibly make a few bucks. I commend you and your...

Moving to bigger beers and batches ?s

I have done many extract kits in the last year but now want to move up to all grain to "save money" and it seems like it is just the natural progression to move away from extract kits. Many posts recommend 15 gallon pots because inevitably you will want to brew 10 gallon batches. On the one...

Is my stir plate going too fast, please respond

I have only made one yeast starter up till now so it certainly does not make me an expert, which is why I read this thread. I also watched your YouTube video and laughed thinking how the poor yeast were crushed up against the side of the flask like the Rotor ride at the Circus. The stir bar...
