I suppose i will look around for it in my area after posting this. I managed to find some sunday morning stout and even jackie o's barrel aged dark apparition. So if the Price isnt right, ill let someone else get some kbs this year.

So I have ordered an Brewers Best Imperial stout 1 Gallon kit. The Abv range it suggests it will be at is 8.1% - 8.6%. I would like to bump this up to 10%
The plot thickens, because I am planning on tweaking this to make it into a Bourbon oak maple imperial stout(Trying to mimic CBS stout)...
Thanks everyone. I was using http://www.brew365.com/mash_sparge_water_calculator.php to give me the info on what my sparge and mash water amounts should be, and got the 7g from that. my target OG was 1.050 and i got 1.040 if that helps fill in details..
I have a 8G tall boy kettle to use for AG batches. I did an IPA recipe that was supposed to have about 7g of pre wort prior to boil. I had more and couldn't have a full boil without it spilling out, so it was more like a simmer. For my next batch can I boil my leftover wort separately? any other...

its been 3 weeks bottle carbing and it gets a quarter inch head that goes after a bit. =/
Think it just needs more time?
I have many problems to take care of to begin with (I have a 5 gallon pot, not big enough at all/ My thermometer goes wacky and only Celsius works) that being said I will buy a bigger pot/better thermometer next time I brew.
My grains were crushed at my LHBS. I had just under 5 gallons of water...
I brewed this yesterday and had an O.G. reading of 1.022.. =((( Granted this is my 4th AG batch i still got some kinks to fix. will my batch be okay? just lower alcohol content?
