    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

I added a pull request to fix this and it looks like it was merged over: https://github.com/Manuel83/craftbeerpi/commit/eef2ffa05580e237ba122c2c515046e00f9bab2e If your system units are set to F, the mash step temps will be treated as Fahrenheit, and the boil temp will be 210F (previously, it...

    Garage Brewery Build

I had to do the same thing with my Hosehead -- when I ordered it, they didn't have the 50A option, and it came with 10' of 10/3 cable, supply your own plug. So I ordered it and got an L6-30 plug and receptacle for it and installed the receptacle -- then when it came it had a much shorter 8/4...

Cfraftbeer Pi vs Elsinore 2.0 for Hosehead?

I think I like CraftBeerPi better, although I haven't done a brew with Elsinore yet. The main reason I went with CraftBeerPi is that it seems more straightforward to do the things I wanted to do. I don't like the idea of having more than one piece of software theoretically controlling my GPIOs...

Do you need to pbw your pre-boil equip?

I run PBW through my kettle, because I want to run it through my hoses, pump, etc. Recirculate for a few minutes, use a sponge to get the gunk out, then do the same with hot water for a rinse. My mash tun gets a hosedown. I've never "cleaned" it.

    Morebeer FerMonster

Get a #10 solid stopper and drill two holes in it.

On the bottom, or on the side wall near the bottom?

PET Big Mouth Bubbler w/New Universal Lid – Blow Off Tube?

Try a drilled stopper with an elbow barb like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008TSWKZ8/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20. I put 1/2" ID tubing on it, but 3/8" ID works too.

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

Are you moving the fan/hood out of the way when it's not in use? If so, could you post more pictures of that setup? I'm trying to figure out something like that.

    hosehead electronic brewery controller

So you're using that with an MPT compression fitting on the cord? The .305" ID seems like it'd be too loose to have the probe in loose.

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

It took about 9 weeks for my order. I think they're really backed up.

    Mark 2 Keg Washer

Yeah, it's only been used a few times, I got it 2 months ago or so.

    Mark 2 Keg Washer

It seems that my pump impeller has come decoupled from the motor assembly. Is there a way to recouple it easily? What I mean is that the motor is spinning, but the impeller only occasionally moves. If I understand how magnetic pumps work, this is because the magnets on the impeller aren't...

Testing 240V outlet and GFCI spa panel

Yes, they're 10AWG stranded. The circuit is on a 30A standard breaker, which isn't pictured. Unfortunately, probably just because there isn't much of a market for them, 30A GFCI breakers are significantly more expensive than 50A GFCI spa panels plus a 30A breaker. Add a short (~18") length of...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

Here's a triclamp dip tube, not the CO one, but it's the same concept. The TC flange closest to the the dip tube attaches to the ferrule on the outside of the kettle, and the valve attaches to the one furthest from the dip tube...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

Just in case anyone had the same issue I did: One of the screws that holds the mash recirc fitting onto the side of the basket was missing in my system. I'm guessing it fell off in the box and got lost somewhere, but one way or another, I only had one. Turns out it's a #10-32 machine screw...
