1,) Why use a secondary , bad idea for this IMO ( I would only use secondary for adding fruit, aging high ABV etc. ) you increase risk of bad things for no return on it IMHO
2.) Why dry hop for 7 days one/two should do the trick? Conventional wisdom suggests more than this can add...

It's chugging away @ 65* the US-05 is doing what it's supposed to at this point.
I fully intend to have this bottled and be drinking it for the 4th with our son and his wife (IF she likes it LOL) Nice Krausen at this point this will be an interesting Beersperiment I believe

Whether you use pantyhose/cheesecloth (whatever) always sanitize anything that will touch your beer (including how you fasten the (whatever) to the auto siphon- you'll be glad you did IMO

Rather than run out and buy a "kit" I have 6# of Amber DME, some Crystal 20L , US 05 ;Cascade 2OZ and Willamette 1 OZ hops(pellets) on hand , thinking I can make a great beer with that which would make him pretty happy???
