I wouldn't recommend a fountian pump for something like this. I would head down to my local fish store and look at some of the water pumps there. I would look into the maxi jet 1200. That will pump water extremely quickly and will last you a life time.

I'll have to check into that stuff, does it affect the head retention or anything?
