Hey guys! Sorry I havent been on here in a while. There is a homebrew club in Springfield called the Beerknobbers. You can join the google groups page and attend any meeting the third tuesday of every month. Ive been a member about a year now and I like it a lot, good people. Also lots of beer...
That reminds me of protein coagulating or hot/cold break material but that should all be left in the bottom of the primary, it settles out fast. Did you use gelatin or any type of clarifying agent when you bottled? Regardless what it is it will probably drop out completely once theyve chilled...
Just got my results! Entered it in 3B oktoberfest and it did really well. Average score of 40. 3/4 judges noted the over the top munich and vienna characteristics which looking at the recipe an trying the beer I have to agree but it I like it. 1 judge liked the grist and gave me a 47...
That recipe looks a lot like the munich madness recipe I just made 5 pilsner 4 munich 3 vienna 12 oz crystal 60 for 5 gallons. If that last bottle you poured got lots of air in the line thats probably all it is :) i agree cardboard is oxidized

I took 3 gallons of welchs white grape peach and 12 pounds clover honey and she really likes a glass or 2. I stopped ferment at 1.02 and its way too sweet for me but it goes over well for most others but if i do it again will back sweeten.
All done! I used a 12v power supply and 25 ohm rheostat. It doesnt work too well with a plain glass and bolt but my flask and stir bar are otw. The leds change color too.
I am having a little trouble understanding how to wire up my stir plate, I've seen plenty diagrams I'm just not sure how to apply them to what I'm doing. I have a 12v power supply that is AC but I believe it has a DC adapter (Its a little inline plug?) and a 12v computer fan. I also want to...
