    First Sour... Questions

Hey all. I'm going to give a sour a shot here. In need of some suggestions please. My base beer will be a 1.060 Blonde Ale. I'm planning on using Wyeast's Lambic Blend or WL's Sour Blend. Probably some sour cherries and some wine soaked french oak cubes. I'm planning on this beer taking 1...

    Isinglass and Bottle Conditioning

Hey guys. I did some searching and didn't really find what I was looking for. I purchased a 2oz bottle of liquid Isinglass for clarifying my DIPA. My question is, will there be enough yeast in suspension to bottle condition after I use the Isinglass? I really just wanted to clear the beer...

    Bell's Expedition Stout

Expedition is a great beer. If you like it, try Founders Imperial Stout, Great Lakes Blackout Stout, Alesmith Speedway Stout, and GI NightStalker. All as good or better than Expedition IMO.

    Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout

Picked up 2 four packs of the 2010. It's really good this year, maybe better than the 2009. Enjoy it, it's a real treat.

Pliny the Elder...what's the hype about?

Not to say your clone wasn't great but I'm sure it wasn't an exact replica just because clones never are perfect. I know PTE uses hop extract, did you use that? I've had a lot of PTE and I must say it is a fine IIPA but it REALLY isn't as good as all the hype. There are numerous IIPA's that...

    1st IPA Recipe-Feedback Please

Looks like a 2 Hearted Clone. I'd dry hop with an oz of Amarillo if it were me. But you can't go wrong with Cascades or more Centennials.

How long should I leave this beer on Oak Cubes?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I appreciate it. The OG was 1.061(roughly) and the FG was 1.010 (roughly) As for the tasting, I swirled the beer in the carboy before I sampled. IDK if that's enough to disperse the oakiness (?) or not. Thanks. I want to keep my foot on the pedal but I...

    Has anybody tried Founders Nemesis?

I love it. I picked up a 4 pack and had my second Nemesis yesterday. What a beer! Although I do strongly prefer the Canadian Breakfast Stout. At least they bottled Nemesis!

How long should I leave this beer on Oak Cubes?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm wondering if this beer isn't "big" enough to withstand the medium oak. I guess I'll just keep tasting it. If anyone else has experience with this let me know. Thanks!

How long should I leave this beer on Oak Cubes?

Hey All. I'm relatively new to the forum and I don't post much (although I have found this site to be an invaluable resource). I have done a lot of searching and there seems to be a lot of different opinions on oak cubes and time. I brewed a Brown Ale with some Dark Brown Sugar and some Grade...

    Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout

I buy a 4 pack every year. It's an excellent beer. Ages very well too. The 2009 batch is exceptionally good IMO.

    My take on Stone Ruination

Totally agree. One of the most overrated beers I can think of. I love IIPA/DIPA's and this does nothing for me. Very little depth or complexity. I'm glad I'm not alone.

    My Latest Favorite Stone Beer

I love Levitation. It's a great session beer. That being said, it's about the only Stone product I'll purchase. I've found most of their offerings to be average at best. I was very disappointed with Ruination in particular. But I'm glad you liked it. It's awesome on draft!
