Hey all. I'm going to give a sour a shot here. In need of some suggestions please.
My base beer will be a 1.060 Blonde Ale. I'm planning on using Wyeast's Lambic Blend or WL's Sour Blend. Probably some sour cherries and some wine soaked french oak cubes. I'm planning on this beer taking 1...
Hey guys. I did some searching and didn't really find what I was looking for.
I purchased a 2oz bottle of liquid Isinglass for clarifying my DIPA. My question is, will there be enough yeast in suspension to bottle condition after I use the Isinglass?
I really just wanted to clear the beer...
Expedition is a great beer.
If you like it, try Founders Imperial Stout, Great Lakes Blackout Stout, Alesmith Speedway Stout, and GI NightStalker. All as good or better than Expedition IMO.
Not to say your clone wasn't great but I'm sure it wasn't an exact replica just because clones never are perfect. I know PTE uses hop extract, did you use that?
I've had a lot of PTE and I must say it is a fine IIPA but it REALLY isn't as good as all the hype. There are numerous IIPA's that...
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I appreciate it.
The OG was 1.061(roughly) and the FG was 1.010 (roughly)
As for the tasting, I swirled the beer in the carboy before I sampled. IDK if that's enough to disperse the oakiness (?) or not. Thanks.
I want to keep my foot on the pedal but I...
I love it. I picked up a 4 pack and had my second Nemesis yesterday. What a beer! Although I do strongly prefer the Canadian Breakfast Stout. At least they bottled Nemesis!
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm wondering if this beer isn't "big" enough to withstand the medium oak. I guess I'll just keep tasting it. If anyone else has experience with this let me know. Thanks!
Hey All. I'm relatively new to the forum and I don't post much (although I have found this site to be an invaluable resource). I have done a lot of searching and there seems to be a lot of different opinions on oak cubes and time.
I brewed a Brown Ale with some Dark Brown Sugar and some Grade...
Totally agree. One of the most overrated beers I can think of. I love IIPA/DIPA's and this does nothing for me. Very little depth or complexity. I'm glad I'm not alone.
I love Levitation. It's a great session beer. That being said, it's about the only Stone product I'll purchase. I've found most of their offerings to be average at best. I was very disappointed with Ruination in particular. But I'm glad you liked it. It's awesome on draft!
The Double Bock is okay. A little on the sweet side for me. The Imperial White is not very good. Very boozy and sickeningly sweet. I really want to try the Imperial Stout but I haven't had a chance.
