The hydrometer doesn't lie. You must not have had a air-tight seal on the primary fermenter. That's why you didn't see any action. Depending on temp the yeast could mow through the sugar pretty fast. With the O.G. that high I would give it a couple weeks in the secondary before bottling.
I have brewed myself a saison with the WLP585 as the primary yeast strain. The beer got down to 1.003 in the primary. This wasn't my plan, but my mash temp got down to 147 by the end. I am now wanting to pitch the Wyeast 5112 Brettanomyces bruxellensis into the secondary. The way I see it is...
I was wanting to buy a jockey box to take to the lake during the summer months. I was also curious if this would be able to double as a means to chill the water for my immersion chiller. Don't know if the flow will be to slow or not.
Dough in at acid rest temp with a low grist to grain ratio then check ph. If could contiue on to sac rest. If not contiue to wait until the ph gets where you need it.
I was wanting rig up a tri clamp blowoff for my new Blichmann Fermenator, but I can't seem to find the bulkhead assembly anywhere. Has anyone seen these pieces anywhere?
