    Kegging issue

turns out the regulator has an issue. I got it from kegconnection.com and its worth pointing out they send send it on back and they will take care of it. You cant beat good service, especially nowadays! Thanks for all the input!

    Kegging issue

Its at about 600. Its odd when I pull the knob out it spins freely but there is no pressure.

    Kegging issue

Need some assistance. I have a keg setup I have used once with no issue. I went to keg today and the valve that you open (not on the tank) to control the pressure does nada. I "pull to adjust", try to adjust and no pressure applies. Is it stripped? If so is it a costly fix? Thanks in advance.

    Move or not to move

I would hold off. From what i know hops will find the sun or you could just lead them in that direction rather than digging them up.

    Astringency in beer

I brewed a hoppy red that I just dry hopped. I took a sample while the fermenter was open and while the aroma was great along with the initial sip there was then a astringency that lingered. Is there any cure but allowing time for it to fade? I believe the culprit was due to the steeping...

    Glass bottle ice bomb?

I'd go for the chiller, even if it takes time to get it. I bought mine for $56 on ebay after putting it off for 8 months and the money is well spent! No more monkeying around and worst of all waiting. Cut my brew time down dramatically.

    Stuck fermentation or impatient?

Thanks Nateo. I have since made a starter and added small sugars. I dumped them in after transfering the wort and it was bubbling after 2 hours. I am pretty optimistic but only time will tell.

    Stuck fermentation or impatient?

I have an imperial stout going, OG 1.096. Started with London Ale yeast and 4 days into fermentation dropped in a packet of red star. 3 weeks later the gravity was 1.040. I gave it a stir and added some more yeast nutrients and she now sits at 70 degrees. The wort was well aerated. So the...

    Starter with old yeast

once again thanks for the tips. I actually did the step up starter from a previous Revvy suggestion. That starter rocked! It was pretty cool to see the yeast go from beige to creamy white in a matter of days.

    Starter with old yeast

thanks for the tips. I made a weak stater to get her started slowly and have bumped it up. Now I just need to pick a day in the this 90+ degree week to brew.

    Starter with old yeast

I made a starter the other day using and old tube (January 10) of WLP051. 1 pint of water, 1 tablespoon of wheat malt extract. There is yeast growth but there is still a brown hue to the yeast. My concern is if this is dead yeast will an off flavor occur? Thoughts?

    Dry hop in bottle?

well, mixed results. One bottle was gusher like and nto enjoyable while the other was very aromatic and tasted good but not great. Hmmm, not an experiment I would run again anytime soon unless I tweaked it a bit.

    Dry hop in bottle?

hey, I might be wrong and it turns out bad but my thinking is more than 2 weeks may lead to grassier than I would want. 1 week may even do that but its a bit of an experiment. The beer is a quite hoppy to start (nugget 60, cent 30, cent 20, 2 z amarillo 10) and might mask any funk. We will see.
