I have the holiday 5.0. It will NOT fit 3 without a collar. Here's a link of my little keg build.

I tried this once by doing the french press method. Used two ounces. I was not happy with the results. Feel I get better hop aroma and flavor by regular old dry hopping.
Grouted the tile. First time ever doing tile so I think it turned out alright. Also picked up 2 cans of brown hammered finish spray paint. Might try and spray it tomorrow.

Starting out the build of my keezer. I wanted something small that I could tuck into the laundry room, so that SWMBO would not banish it to the garage. After seeing Brew2it's https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/cheapest-new-2-keg-keezer-224848/ and Heyjaffy's...
From what I understand, the holiday and GE are the same freezer. Look exactly the same on the inside. Compared the GE 5.0 at Sam's Club and the Holiday at Lowes and couldn't spot a difference. I picked up the 5.0 Holiday at for $135 (family members employee discount) so I couldn't pass that up...

I hear ya. My wife and I are building our first house right now. I was checking out the model home and already found a place in the laundry room to build a keezer and a spot in the garage for a ferm chamber. Now we just need the house to be finished. Can't wait til Dec 22nd :tank:
I bought the cheap, red 48 qt cooler at walmart. No problems with heating water or off flavors from it. Also keeps mash temp great, hardly loses any heat. I also throw a beach towel over the lid since that's where you feel the most heat escape, so maybe that helps. Only problem I can think of is...
Had a Karl Strauss oktoberfest a few years back at California adventure park in Disneyland. That was the best Okt I've ever had. I don't know if it had anything to do with being in Disneyland and drinking a beer overlooking the water at paradise pier or not :)
