American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Thinking about brewing this beer on Friday, can't seem to find any Crystal 10 though. I do however have some Caramalt extract from Morgan's, and I've heard it's similar to Crystal 10. Think I can use that instead?

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Bottled my small batch this Tuesday after more than two months in the fermenter. Had a bottle a couple of days ago and it was pretty good. Definitely gonna make this again.

American Pale Ale Cascades / Orange Pale Ale

Damn, I was going to make this tomorrow but my starter (made from the sediments from a bottle) hasn't grown enough and the LHBS is closed. Might have to postpone it a few days.

What are some of the mistakes you made...where your beer still turned out great!

*Fermented my beer while the ambient temperature was at 82 degrees. *Forgot to sanitize a bunch of stuff. *Fermented my beer in plastic buckets that had some scratches on the inside. *Added some Isinglass to my beer because I thought I would have time to bottle it before I left to spend a...

    Beer bellies just a myth!

So... If I keep on smoking I won't get a beer belly? Works for me.

    IBU question....

Nope. The hops have to be boiled to release bitterness.

    Thoughts on Sam Adams...

I think their beer is pretty good. So far I've had Winter Lager, Boston Lager, Boston Ale, Octoberfest and Honey Porter. Octoberfest and Winter Lager are on sale now, I might pick some up if I can find it next time I buy beer.

Winter Seasonal Beer Reindeer Fuel Stout.

I'm thinking about making this for next christmas, but I can't find the coffee you're talking about, so I'll have to use regular coffee and add spices separately. Do you know what spices they use?

    Devils on Beer Labels

Djævlebryg - Mystikale (might have changed now though), Old Mephisto, Nekron, Son of Nekron and Pride of Nekron.

I want to raise the alcohol content in a Scotch Ale

Nope, use malt extract instead. You might want to add some more hops and steeping grains to balance it as well. Edit: I suppose a little sugar wouldn't hurt, but I don't think you want to use as much as is needed for the alcohol to rise to 7-9%.

    showing off an oldie

Don't forget: his penis was chopped off and put in a jar.

    Label idea but no talent

Yep, that should be pretty easy to do. Get a template, then add the beer name and maybe some shadow in another layer. Download GIMP (the best free graphics editor I know of), do some tutorials and play around a little.

32% ABV beer (Tactical Nuclear Penguin)

Don't like it? Fine, don't buy it then, and quit whining about it. Sure, it is ten times more expensive than the beer it's made of (Paradox), but then again, it probably takes at least four bottles worth of Paradox to make one bottle of TNP, it's been oak aged for a longer time and the freeze...

Ho ho ho! What beer gear did Santa get you for Christmas '09?

I got a 10 liter pot from my mom. I already have a 5 liter pot, so I'll start doing split boils soon. I also got some money, so I'll probably buy some other brewing gear next week.
