    My extract brew color wrong

Thanks for responding. I did have the beer in a clear glass and compared it to the livibond color chart. I then converted it to SRM.

    My extract brew color wrong

The beer was made from a kit. The lme was pale. It was a 60 min. boil with the lme added at the beginning of the boil. The lme was a few months old. The SRM was indicated on the kit instructions. I matched the color on a Lovibond color chart then converted it to SRM using a conversion formula...

    My extract brew color wrong

My extract brews usually come out darker than they should. My latest batch of Bell's 2 Hearted Clone should have had a SRM of 8.74,but it came out at 24.3. Any ideas? HopsPop

    Active Fermentation

I've got a Belgian Trippel in primary. I've had to put on a blow off tube. The Airlocks couldn't handle the CO2. I'm using a 6.5gal Big Mouth Bubbler so I've got head space. I like the Big Mouth in lieu of the plastic fermenter buckets it great for observing the yeast working. I'll just have to...

Over Carbed my Trappist Ale in the keg

Any suggestions for de carbing my TA. I know the style favors a higher carb level, but I'm just not happy with this level. I've thought of putting a spunding valve together and calibrate it for my carb level. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

I Have a second hand kegerator which I cleaned up and started using. I have had a couple of problems with it lately regarding temperature control. Today I put a new keg in. I went downstairs to check the carb pressure and found the unit wasn't cooling even though the temp. Indicator said it was...

    Cooked Wyeast?

We brewed a Midwest Altbier day before yesterday. We hit our O.G. Of 1.042. Everything looked good. The problem is with the Wyeast German Ale yeast. When we received the kit last week FedEx delivered it late in the day when the temp. Was 100 F. Immediately opened the box and refrigerated the...

    Kegging an Imperial Pale Ale

Getting ready to transfer from my secondary into my Corny. (second batch kegged). First batch primed with 2.5 oz. priming sugar, pressurized to 12psi CO2,and let sit for a week at 40deg.F.,dispensed at 10 psi. Ended up a little foamy, but nice head. I would like a little more carbonation. My...
