Can't wait to hear how this turns out. There's nothing wrong with pushing the limits of brewing. Worst case scenario you have terrible tasting beer and the firsthand knowledge of something that you won't attempt again. Kudos!
Brewed up an American Brown Ale, Sweet Stout, Imperial Stout, and a smaller stout off of the runnings of the IS. 4 brews in one afternoon!:ban: So there were no hops left for the little stout as there was not enough foresight for that... so me and a fellow brewer had to kill off one of the kegs...
Just picked one of these from the liquor store. MMM MMMMMMM! Palate destroyer for sure. The inflammatory anti-big beer conglomerate rant on the reverse side of the bottle is just an added bonus. :D
I made a stout with chipotle pepper and it tasted great! I used about 1/2 oz in the boil and 1/2 oz in the secondary. Since the peppers are smoked to begin with, the peppers added a nice smoked wood flavor to the beer and gave it a little warmth. I would not call the beer spicy by any means but...
That sounds great! I made a pumpkin brew a while back and I think it is pretty good. But that idea of yours is quite creative! If I attempt another pumpkin brew I will follow your lead and put it in a bag. I lost about a gallons worth in trub :(
