Where can I find conductive silicone gel to put in a thermowell? Can you find this kind of thing in a typical hardware store or Home Depot? Or an electronics store maybe? I'm in the San Diego area if anyone knows of a store in San Diego.
I have a DudaDiesel plate chiller and unfortunately I accidentally got some grains going through it on my last brew. I've been pumping water through it and about 10 grains come out and then I reverse the flow and then another 10 grains come out and repeat back and forth and the grains just keep...
They have been very responsive in sending me a replacement... and then another... I have three of these now at my house, and all three of them have the same issue. Their customer-support says to just let the false-bottom catch on the weld to keep it above the valve opening. I think the weight...
I recently purchased a MoreBeer 26gal mash-tun and noticed the false-bottom sits too low to clear the valve opening. The legs are just too short. Anyone else using these mash-tuns and observed the same thing? I could put a fitting in that valve-port for something to rest the false-bottom on...
A little surprising you're having a problem with the Blichmann leaking. I suspect this is not common or they wouldn't be so popular. No? Which fitting is leaking?
I've been using two 6gal carboys for my 10gal batches forever. I want to try a single large plastic bucket now (easier to fit in my fridge, lighter than a demijohn, etc.). Anyone have a good source for something around 15gal?
Do you find that you have to slow down the recirculation rate to avoid stuck-mashes due to the tall width-to-height ratio? Seems like such a tall grain bed could also result in temperature stratification. It surprises me Stout makes their mash-tuns so tall when it seems most commercial systems...
Any updates you might be willing to share? I am thinking of buying one of these but my only hesitation has been the width-to-height ratio possibly requiring slower recirculation speeds. Have you had a stuck-mash with this yet?
