    Brewing software for ipad

I have used iBrewMaster and beta tested iBrewMaster2 and still use that currently. I have no experience with the BeerSmith app but I do have a copy of BS2 on my MacBook. I also have and used BeerPal prior to finding iBrewMaster. IMHO I wasted the money on BS2 because I can do everything there...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

While at the gastropub, a young hipster walks in and asks the bartender for something like a Budweiser. He pours him a sample of Aloha Beer Company's Lager, a very BMC friendly beer. He tastes it and says, "wow! This has a bunch more flavor than anything I've had before... Do you have...

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

I'd say piss in a seltzer bottle, carb and chill then serve...

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

When my friends ask me this I tell them here have a sip off the test jar. They go and take a giant swig of it and usually spit it out... Lol

It's down at ward, next to the farmers market in the space that Tropics used to have. Glad you enjoyed it! I love it lol...

    Belma Hops

I did a single hop saison with purely Belma and had great results. I really enjoy its natural fruity notes paired with a barley malt backbone but I could see how this would also pair well in most wheat styles. Here was my recipe: Saison De La Maison Wong 3Gal BIAB OG: 1.055 FG: 1.007...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

I regularly frequent a gastropub here on Oahu called "Real". It is probably the coolest "craft beer" bar in town. I always hear people asking for blue moon or a number of various BMC products. Every single one of the tenders has a very similar answer. "Sorry, we don't have that. I could...

    allgrain kits for biab

if you are doing a different batch size do what c-rider says! Otherwise if you buy a 5gal kit and intend on making a 5gal batch no changes are needed. I got a good buddy who doesn't fiddle with recipes and only buys kits. Does 5gal BIAB. Works great for him!

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

From what I know oak will mellow with time. Besides that you only bottled this last Thursday so it probably needs more time to really let all the flavors mellow. How long was primary and secondary? My plans for my own adapted version uses a 30 day primary followed by a two month minimum...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Depending on how long it takes me to renew my drivers license tomorrow, looks like I might be brewing up "The Nug", A Nugget single hop IPA.

    First DIPA

Spot on here. Ray Daniels makes note of this in his book, Designing Great Beers, about most pale ales. Here was my grain bill for my BIAB IIPA (3.5gal batch size) 12lbs Pale Malt (can substitute brewers malt or another pale equivalent eg: Marris Otter) 8ozs Cara-Pils 8ozs Crystal-40 12ozs...

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

My boss did a similar thing but then said: "When are you going to start distilling, so I can have some whiskey?

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

I don't always follow these rules. If I am only having a few people (3-4) I don't enforce the bring something. Most likely in those situations that means you are part of my "crew"/good friend/fellow home brewer, therefore you can drink. I don't make huge batches and I don't keg (yet...) so...
