Flavor profile changing while in keg

Hi. Well let's first say that about a year ago, i started reading some threads about beer clearing and wether beer had to be filtered or not. I bought myself some filters and used them. I built a keggerator and i use it a lot now, friends come over a lot and drink huge amounts of beer. Last...

    Yeast off flavors

YESSSSSSSSSSSS I just checked the FG of a Winter Warmer (ABV 8.9%) The temp of the room was lower than 70°F, and i just smelled it and tasted it and it reminded me pretty much to bourbon with banana. LOL :cross: :D I hope that the funky flavors go away within four weeks like the last post...

Nottingham at 76 degrees, off flavors?

I've just checked the fg of a winter brown ale. Got the recipe from an old post. I thought it would be great, but, it's been about ten days and ABV its about 8.9%, but when i tasted/smelled the beer y just noticed a banana flavor. Gave some to my mother and she spat the beer in the sink.. lol...

    Noche Buena recipe?

Hi. I'm from Monterrey, México. I don't know why mexicans laugh when you ask them... but, this beer is like a special edition beer for christmas eve, that's why it's called noche buena. I saw that they were starting to unpack a few boxes of it in cosco. I think they'll be selling it next week...

    Beer tastes like plastic

I just had the same problem with my kegerator. But it was with carbed beer. I force carbed my beers and some friends came over and had some pints of beer, it was good tasting blonde ale. 5 days after that, I poured a glass and it tasted like plastic. (I left the tap conected to the keg and the 7...

Has anyone tried the Blichmann Beer Gun?

neither do i. i just tried to make it work today but didn't succeed. A great waste of beer, cause the beer i could put in some bottles (that were half filled because of foaming trouble) doesn't seem to be carbed at all. I think i won't ever use it again. The beer was not overcarbed or warm. I...

    Do you filter your beer?

Look!!! I just tried this on my last batch, I filtered my beer after boiling it, this is what i got. I can't wait to see it after fermentation. I hope it's as clear as it is now. I read in another post that removing cold break could affect the reproductive phase of yeast but i'm planning to add...

    Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

I just had about 5 pints of this beer this weekend and WOW it was awesome! A cousin took me to a bar that has quite a variety of beers in Houston and i decided to give this beer a shot since it was on tap and most of their stouts were not. When i first tasted it i was like WTF!!! :rockin...

    co2 recovery??

well, from that point of view, i'll let you know that i was not planning to do that, just dreamin' LOL maybe it's because i've already had three pints of my last batch the famous orfys mild. Anyway, i found this out and this is how they do it...

    co2 recovery??

:tank: a friend of mine runs a local bar, and he asked me to brew some beer to have my homebrew on tap always on his bar. Since i'm going to make about 20 gallons a week, i thought that it would be nice to capture and filter some co2, and it would also save me some money. How did that guy do it?
