    floating particle phenomena

nope. I am pretty sure that it is not yeast either. The particles are too fine....so fine that outside of the beer, they cannot be noticed. And, after two weeks in the keg, it has not settled out. I'll work on getting a better picture.

    floating particle phenomena

Can't seem to figure this out...hopefully someone will be able to tell me what's going on! I kegged a batch of steam beer after letting it sit in the seconday for a couple weeks. I let it carbonate for a week or so, and poured a glass to test it. Suspended in the beer were small strange...

making a lager with dry yeast

I noticed that many lager kits give the option of using dry yeast, which ferments at 60-70 degrees. If I use such a recipe, will it make a quality beer? Should I just stick with ale?

    over primed...exploding bottles?

for my last 5 gallon batch, I put half into a keg and put the other half into bottles. I primed the half going into bottles, but I accidentally used the full cup of priming sugar rather than just half of it. Should I be worried about these 24 bottles on my shelf exploding in a couple of weeks?

I was steeping chocolate and crystal malts with the extract for my latest batch of beer, and I accidentally let it boil for about 5 minutes before I noticed and removed the grains. Will this ruin my batch of beer?

    brown hops

I was out of town last week, and we got hit with some hot, dry weather. The hops that were on the vine, which were just about ready to harvest, turned shades of brownish-green and yellow. The yellow glands are stilll present, and they still smell like cascade hops when I squish them in my...

    five or six?

I a six gallon carboy too big to use as a secondary? I have a five and a six, and I want to use my five as the primary in my next batch to blow off more of the krausen. This leaves my 6 to be the secondary. Is this too big?
