    The Barleywine Conundrum

I learned the hard way that high gravity beers require a little more oxygen. I usually wait 24hrs after pitching, then aerate a second time. I like using WLP 070 Bourbon yeast for my barleywines, supposed to be good up to 18-20%abv, but may add a little E1118 if I think I need a little extra...

Suggestions for a light Color summer beer

Funny you should say that. I took a case on vacation to New Orleans last summer and had 2 pints every morning. That and a hot shower before looking for adventure.

    EC 1118 For Fruit Wines???

I agree. I've used EC-1118 for its neutral character and high abv tolerance. It's great for getting a baseline set, then trying other yeasts in subsequent batches until you find the one that compliments your recipe the best.

Suggestions for a light Color summer beer

I am fond of Summer Wheat Ales as well, though I would probably split your grain bill in half and add just enough corn sugar to stay right around 3%, using Mangrove Jack's M-27 yeast for good citrus character. Very light and refreshing. This year I might try US-05 and some fruit additions.

    Honey Bees for mead

I've been looking into this myself, and if I ever do I'll probably go with Flow Hive: http://www.honeyflow.com/

    The Great HBT Taco Thread

The last tacos I made were from a smoked bear sirloin roast, man were they good. After going through this thread, like many people, I will be making tacos tonight. Weather is crap and don't have time for the smoker, so I'll probably just use ground bear with seasoning, white corn tortillas, with...

Is it worth it to harvest a stone beer?

There is also the question of whether or not they use the same yeast for bottling that they ferment with. They probably do, but I know some places use a separate yeast for bottle conditioning.

    Musselmans Cider

I have 6 gallons of the spiced variety I plan on doing something with soon, might make a couple cysters. I think I was able to get it at the local Walmart for about $3/gal. I used the regular non-spiced for a hard cider when it first hit the shelves, pitched US-05, and it came out really tart. I...

I think they're hot, but you probably don't

No, this damn app on my g-pad gives me an error when I try to post something sometimes, so I try again and get double or triple posts. Does a Korean gambling website pay well?
