    Aggressive Fermentation, Need Help ASAP

Yeah we've got it set at about 68 degrees. I think I may have resolved my issue. I modified the air lock, by cutting the tip off which has allowed for the krausen and hops to pass through the airlock and into the blow-off tube. Thanks ChefRex...I did exactly that and things seem to be working...

    Aggressive Fermentation, Need Help ASAP

So I have a brew that's going nutty in the fermentor, it's blown the top off my fermentation bucket twice. After the first lid release, I put a blow-off tube into a jug of water, but it appears that the kraussen is clogging the airlock I have in place prior to the blow-off tube? What can I do...

    Was I saved or??

Update: Threw some gas on it yesterday, and poured this delicious Brown Ale?? Nope! It was a Robust Porter...haha. I thought I knew what had been drunk and what had not...4 months is a long time. Thanks again for your support guys...much appreciated.

    Was I saved or??

Originally I believed the korny was the cause of the leak and not the gas lines, thus allowing in some nastyness. I did not check at the time...you know the saying about assumptions...so lesson learned for sure. Guess I need to get a new korny for my new brew (a Belgian IPA) and enjoy a...

    Was I saved or??

So about 4 months ago I had kegged a nice brown ale and then went away on business. Upon my return I broke out a glass to try my recently kegged brown only to find a slow stream of beer pouring into my glass. I checked the co2 tank and found that it had completely emptied. Obviously it leaked...

    Need Help ASAP

I am in the midst of my first 15 gallon day with three different 5 gallon batches and I miss-timed something. I have 16 pounds of grain mashing at 153 degrees in my cooler at one hour now, but I still have nearly 40 minutes left on my boiling wort for batch number 2. What can I do with my...

American Brown Ale BBD Brown Biscuit

So I bottled this on Wednesday and I will say it was the best tasting Brown I have ever done going into the bottles. It had a little warmth to it which I find interesting with a lower ABV beer, anyone else getting a hint of warmth with theirs? It's not off putting or extremely noticeable...

American Brown Ale BBD Brown Biscuit

I am sorry I was not specific enough. I know this is an American Brown Ale which would fall between 1.5 - 2.5 volumes of cO2, just curious what you shoot for?

Also, how did you carb this? Looking to bottle using priming sugar.

    Too long in the secondary

That is indeed some patience. The worrying has subsided a little thanks to everyone. I look forward to getting this bottled, or at least checking on it tomorrow. I do want to try a high gravity beer, or some other special brew in the spring and letting it sit for 8 months or so, just to try...

    Too long in the secondary

Thanks Calder and Shoreline, that was enough to put me at ease...well until you said keep the airlock filled. I have not even looked at it since putting it in the secondary and as I sit here at work waiting for 7am to come that is all I can think about..hahaha. Oh well, tomorrow could be a good...

    Too long in the secondary

Yeah I am two days shy of 7 weeks so it's definitely been in there a while. I am hoping to get it bottled up tomorrow afternoon. I think this is the longest I have ever waited for anything...well besides my kids...LOL

    Too long in the secondary

So I created a brown ale in late October and transferred it to the secondary on November 5th. Now before you ask, I have not even looked at this since putting into the secondary so I have no idea what it looks like. I assume that it will be fine if there is nothing nasty floating around in it...
