I'm glad that they are still drinkable. I just now hope that they aren't $7.99 per bottle which sounds more realistic, but still reasonable. They were separated into a case with six in each with one sticker for $7.99 on them. I'm going back tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed!
Ha! Thanks for the replies guys! I will be there tomorrow and snatch up what they have left. The funny thing is, I saw them there two weeks ago and ignored them because I was looking for something else. I went back today, and they were still there. You would think that since October 2008...
Hey all. I just wanted an opinion on whether these two beers would be good when the bottle date on them is October 2008. The local beverage distributor by my house has a 6 pack of each left with a sticker of $7.99 on them. ;)
Just wondering if either of these two beers are worth buying with...
I am planning on brewing an IPA this weekend with a ton of hops. My last IPA did not come out good and I think it was due to the fact a lot of trub ended up in primary and the bottling bucket due to some carelessness. Anyway, to avoid that, I would like to use a paint strainer to filter the...
Okay, thanks for all the suggestions. I will leave it in primary for AT LEAST four weeks making sure to take hydrometer readings to be sure it is done. I will then bottle and leave alone for three weeks. Then I will crack one open!
Okay, so I will leave it in primary for four weeks and then bottle, but I am slightly worried about the bottle conditioning. This is an IPA with a lot of hops. Will longer conditioning in bottles reduce the hop flavor/aroma? How long after bottling do you usually see a degradation in hop...
Okay, I am getting ready to brew my third batch this weekend. So far my first two have come out great. I left both of them in primary for 21 days and then straight to bottles.
The beer I will be brewing this weekend will have an estimated OG of 1.080. I have not been able to get a clear...
I am going to be brewing an American Wheat for swmbo and wanted to add some fruit. I do not want to deal with pounds of fresh or frozen fruit and I certainly don't want to use extracts.
My question is, has anyone tried using POM juice in their brew with any success? I was planning on adding...
If it means anything, the number of calories in a good quality pint is probably less than a 16oz glass of orange juice. I'm sure people think nothing of downing sugary fruit juices for breakfast every morning, but then drink "light" beers to avoid gaining weight.
I believe in a healthy diet...
I was considering making a simple American Wheat beer in the next two weeks and adding 16 oz of POM/Mango juice to my primary when fermentation is done. Has anyone tried using the POM juices with any success?
Thank you for the input. I will be storing them at 70 degrees so I think I will go with the 1.75 oz. My main concern was volume loss during fermentation. You did your calc based on a loss of .25 gallon of trub which was close to my original estimate. Thank you.
