Hi everyone,
Quick specs:
Partial Mash
OG 1.064
S-05 yeast
Ok so I have a primary carboy with a blow off tube. Nothing special its currently around 70 degrees after 3.5 weeks.
I could hear a bubble in the blowoff tube water about once every 3-5 minutes. I went ahead and pitched hops last week...
What size is the tank? Considering I'm in Texas and just bought an oxygenation system from Midwest I need to get a tank and I wouldn't mind following your process.
I used to tailgate but haven't lately.
If I were able to go to the Texans game I have a portable setup to push out of cornies I could bring.
No jockeybox yet though! :(
You and Klutz have gotten me thinking of going down this route. Do you have a keyword I can search for or a link to some instructions?
Also, how has it affected your electric bill? I'm wondering the difference in cost between a chest freezer and this box...
I like the idea of the copper around the carboys. Do you feel it keeps the carboy cold enough and how often do you have to push new cold water through the pipes? Any write up online?
I personally don't have a hard time shaking up my primary when siphoning in the wort and most of the time I hit my expected FG. However there are times when I'm higher than expected, maybe 2-3 points, and have wondered if its mash temp or aeration.
I'm also hoping to do a barleywine or RIS...
Do you know if the model you bought can hold a corny without having to add a cheater? If so and the price were right I'd like to get that for lagering and/or kreezer.
What size fermenter do you have? I have a 6.5 gal(23 L) glass carboy. Not sure on the width but I'll search Amazon...I never really thought of that. That might be the excuse I need to get a bigger kettle for 10 gallon batches!
Thank you for the dates.
Do you know if there are certain requirements such as style, procedure (ag, pm), amount to provide for judging, etc?
Thanks in advance!
I'm over in the Galleria/SW side off 59.
I would be interested in swapping brews and maybe getting some pointers on all grain as I only partial mash at the moment. The main reason I haven't jumped is the extra equipment and the potential stuck mashes!

But to answer your question I don't know...
