well after being in the secondary for like 4 or 5 days i noticed the beer seemed to be getting very black.... so i decide to take a flashlight to it and see what happens and it is BRIGHT red..... this is an IPA ingredient list......... is this normal?
amber malt extract 2 cans
crystal grain...
sooo should i just keep on going with the process? do you suppose 1 week would have been enough?.... should i just rack into a bucket and take hydrometer readings?
well i just recently bottled my first attempt at a wheat and while i was at it i brewed up an ipa.... i jsut racked into the secondary like 2 days ago and im not seeing ANY action yet.... there wasnt hardly any action in the primary and im beginning to worry the yeast might not be working...
i dont know if you plan on going secondary or not ... but im on my first brew as well and i thought i pitched too soon as well and when i racked into the secondary it stirred up the yeast a lil and it fermented with ALOT more action than it did in the primary..... just thought id share since we...
arrr ye mateeyyy tis the first evar batch, it be the best yet arrrr lol
yea its the first time around for me but i plan on going to the store tommorow to buy another carboy and ingredients for an IPA!!! .... i need to have alot of beer on deck so i can be more patient with my brewing i think i...
i definatly may have introduced the yeast when the wort was still a lil high in temperature.... 90-95 deg? ..... thats probably why .... other than that the temp has been 70 deg stable since then
preciate it death..... do you think the beer will turn out decent still?
it seemed to me after a week in the primary the fermentation stopped after 2 or 3 days... and was never really bubbling at a rapid pace..... racked into the secondary on day 7 and check on it this morning and its fermenting its ass off! the head is not near the airlock so i dont think i need...
thanks very much ill do exactly that.... the 1-2-3 .... sounds good to me... hopefully the secondary will clear up the beer..... regardless its the first attempt in brewing so any semi decent beer out of it would be great
my temps were at about 90 deg after i added the boil to very cold water in the primary... is this too hot to add the yeast?
well i did it anyway ( fogetting to lest it cool to 70-80 deg)......and over the past 48 hrs its def fermenting cause the airlock has been bubbling.... am i ok?
