New Homebrew Club: North of Omaha

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it tonight, as I have the flu or something.

    What's up with your name?

This is a fun thread. My name comes from early in my USMC enlistment when I was on Recruiter's Assistance. A friend called me while I was heading out to lead some potential enlistees on a PT run. Having previously called my house and misunderstanding my parents, he opened by asking me, "Who's...

Do u think stone is a top 5 brewery in the U.S.?

Ouch, Bruery's a better San Diego County brewery than Stone, and they're not even in SD County.

Do u think stone is a top 5 brewery in the U.S.?

First, don't fall for the Objectivist-baiting. I have a kid named Dagny. Second, there is no second, only first. First, if quality is objective, what's the point of personal opinion? I say, go ask the guy working on his motorcycle.

    Beer sold near Disneyland/Santa Barbara

Telegraph from Santa Barbara. They are almost solely responsible for getting me into homebrewing and (last I checked in 2012) make some unique and well-crafted beers that you won't find outside of CA, Las Vegas, Chicago and some other random spots.

Do u think stone is a top 5 brewery in the U.S.?

Yes, in the US, Stone is top 5. But, I'm not one to defend my taste in beer or impose my ideas upon others. I've been known to enjoy Hamms as much as Schenkerla. Chimay as much as a Sam Adams. Lost Abbey as much as a Killians. Beer is almost entirely personal and contextual. As much as...

New Homebrew Club: North of Omaha

Apparently I need to learn to read a calendar--that Tuesday is the 12th, not the 11th. Thus, it's two days after the USMC b-day; I'll be functioning. Chriso, once we're going on the internet front, I'll definitely let you know where we "are". I'm planning on starting a "marketing blitz" in...

New Homebrew Club: North of Omaha

Good point. That's also the day after the Marine Corps Birthday, so I may or may not be functioning... I'll keep this post updated as the fog clears.

New Homebrew Club: North of Omaha

The meeting was small, but very good. We'll be meeting again on the second Tuesday of November (11/11/13) at 6:00, same location. Hope you can make it out--we're hoping to increase attendance a little each month. --Travis

New Homebrew Club: North of Omaha

I recently relocated from California to Nebraska. Having been a member of the Maltose Falcons, I've found myself greatly missing the fellowship and supportive community of homebrewers nearby. Admittedly, Omaha is not exactly lacking in homebrew clubs, they just aren't close enough to...

    6.5 gallon glass carboy

One of the better purchases I've made. I love being able to see the beer while it's fermenting and also to clean the whole thing without fear of scratching. Price Payed: $45.00 Recommended? Yes Pros: Simple as can be. Lots of headspace for 5 gal. batches. Cons: Nothing.
