    Best retail kegerator?

I like the look of this kegerator; does anyone know if this could be used under a cabinet? The same brand of cabinet - ready kegerator is almost 3 times as much!

    Back up into my regulator

What should I clean the regulator with? Star san? do I just soak it in a bucket of the stuff? What is a check valve? is that like a backflow preventer?

    Back up into my regulator

I had a bit of a disaster: I hooked up a partially full keg that had been sitting around for a couple months onto my CO2 line because I wanted to taste the contents of the keg. Something must have been fermenting in there, because as soon as I attached the line, something was coming through the...

My quest for the elusive American Brown Ale...

Ellie's Brown Ale is delicious. I believe it is brewed in CO. It has a brown lab on the label, if you see one: try it.

    DIY Pint Glass Etching

FYI, if you have a Staples near you, and don't want to buy a pack of 100 transparencies for $30, just take a copy of the image to their copy center, they will copy it onto a transparency for a little under $1 apiece. Also, I used the ArmourEtch, and they recommended a 5 minute application...

    Oaking for first time

Actually, the chips give more of a 2-dimensional flavor. Cubes give a 3 dimensional flavor and oak points give a one-dimensional flavor. The points are hard to work with, though. ;)

Dry Hopping - anybody use tea balls/infusers?

I used three 2-inch balls to dry hop my last brew; It was an easy way to keep the hops out of the brew; I put about .33 oz in each ball; the hops really absorb a lot of brew and the balls were full of soaked hops. The first tasting was good, I'll do the same thing again. I switched to this...

    How much cherry?

I tried tart cherry concentrate in a wheat beer recently, it was waaaay too tart, I'd stick to the sweet cherries, especially if you want a subtle flavor.

High OG brew w/ low OG hydrometer

That makes perfect sense, Shorty. That's why the hydro reading post fermentation was off from the 50% I thought it would be.

High OG brew w/ low OG hydrometer

Well, the experiment didn't go very well. I used equal amounts of water and beer with the 1.010 brew, and it came out less than 1.005, or it may have been user error. When I tried it with the high OG wort, it came in at 1.040, which may have been just about right, but I think the water I...

High OG brew w/ low OG hydrometer

Oooh, I have a beer in the fermenter that is steady at 1.010, I'll do an experiment with that. I'll get back to you all this afternoon I hope.
