Pesticides will come with a PHI rating (Pre Harvest Interval) for each crop that its labeled for use on. From what I can see neem oil as a 0 day PHI, in theory you'd be able to use it up until the day you harvest, obviously that wouldnt be necessary.
Im trying to find more info on spraying neem oil for inspect control after the plants have already formed burrs.
I see many people making comments that they are afraid to use neem after burrs have formed but i cannot find any evidence or studies to suggest that there is actually a problem...
The spring outlook is expecting above average to much above average temps for the next 3 months. In the typical year we dont usually get shoots until end of April or May. I could easily see us getting significant growth as early as March mid to late March if the temp trend continues.
How will...
To me those look like viable shoots. The less productive bull shoots will grow quite quickly and have a large than average distance between the leaf nodes. Tough to say when they are that short though but i think you're fine.
This is great! I'm not going to the Hop Convention but I'd love to get more info from some of the harvester builders. Their websites arent very forthcoming with the details.
From what i understand you're correct its just cosmetic. The hops flavor comes from the lupulin not the leaves.
Maybe someone else has other information?
