Bottling Carbonation Issues: Can I transfer to Keg and Force Carbonate?

So, I brewed this English style barleywine and added some oak chips that I soaked in Crown's Maple Whiskey. Me being rather new to brewing and in a hurry, I underpitched my yeast, and did not bring water to a boil before stirring in my priming sugar. I had a bottle or 2 that was carbonated...

    Concerning double potching dry yeast

Thanks guys! I appreciate all the help. I've been reading rave reviews about this beer and am pumped to try it out. I think I'll just pitch the one and go from there.

    Concerning double potching dry yeast

I plan on brewing Janet's brown ale this weekend but wanted to use dry yeast so I wouldn't have to make a starter. I'm going with the safale us-05. Og is projected to be between 1065 and 1070. Mr malty says to pitch an extra 2 grams of yeast. Should I measure out the 2 grams, pitch a whole 2nd...

Best way to dry hop in keg

I am fermenting my first apa currently and am considering dry hopping in the keg. Should I use the keg essentially as a secondary (basement temp and I manually release gas daily) or should I throw the keg in my fridge while dry hopping?

Should I Bury My Hop Vines After Harvesting?

Greetings from Canton, OH! This is my first year of hop growing. I bought 2 Cascade rhizomes and my buddy and I built this 14ft tall structure with pulleys to let the vines down for harvesting. His neighbors have been concerned that we built some kind of crazy cross in his backyard :)...

    1st Year Pruning Questions

Thanks for the advice. I had been following the directions from The Complete Guide to Growing Your Own Hops, Malts, and Brewing Herbs by John Peragine so I had pruned down to the 2 main vines per rhizome as instructed. I'll leave them to grow however they want from now on. Hopefully I can still...

    1st Year Pruning Questions

Just planted some Cascade rhizomes but they grew to 2ft before I was able to build my trellis system (which is really awesome, by the way). We had put chicken wire around the rhizomes to keep something that had been eating some leaves out but my strongest vine started wrapping itself through the...
