    Black Forest Maple Bacon

Thank you for this wonderful thread. I felt a little overwhelmed by the thought of making bacon, but your step by step procedure made it a little less stressful. I will never be buying BF bacon from Whole Foods again. This was absolutely a hit with the family and we went through 12 pounds in...

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

My persnickety nature gets the best of me. Not meant to cause anxiety. My other fermenter were never that oily. It was a fluke. [emoji6]

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

At first I did a light wash down with TSP using a white light duty scotch brite pad, but that’s wasn’t enough. I needed to work a little harder to remove all the oil from the TC fittings with a terry cloth towel. So be thorough when cleaning to get all the gunk.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I made this recipe for 4th of July with two additions of Mandarina Bavaria. A 1/2 ounce whirlpool addition for 15 minutes @ 160 degree and then 1 ounce dry hopped for 5 days. I was happy with the beer overall. Almost every comment from my neighbors were regarding the wonderful aroma. Looking...

    Small Batch Mash Temp Control

For simplicity, when I do my 2.5 gallon biab batches. I preheat my oven with my pizza stone on the bottom of the rack. I usually set the temp 5-10 degree above my grain temp. When the pizza stone hits my temp, I place the kettle on the pizza stone, then turn off the oven. My temp has never...

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I ordered some extension tubes form my 1/2 barrel, so I can do similar quantities. But I haven't pulled the trigger, as I have concerns about leaking also. Sorry to hear that. I may just scrap the idea of partial batches, it's not worth potentially losing a beer over. I have been temped to...

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I am loving my glycol chiller, it has made fermenting a breeze. I placed mine on a cart for portability along with all my FTSS pumps. I am currently cold crashing a brew on my 7g BME. My garage temps have been in the low to high 90's and the chiller has kept my ferment temps at 38 degrees...
