Cool - thanks. I have a 50' ss coil. Thought I would switch it a few times during the boil and see how it worked.
Moved to new place and will end up with a nice workable indoor spot. Already moved to electric - so should make things much easier and less weather dependent.....
I have been cooling with tap water until about 80-85 deg then switching to chilled (ice) water for the last bit down to about 60-65 deg. That only needs 10-15 pounds of ice.
I use a submersible pump and a bucket. Pump in bucket, then ice, then enough water to get things started - waters comes...
The thing I am trying to figure out is: This was a long running affair as I understand it - so why did this not come up when he was vetted for the CIA job. Either they did not notice which unnerving or they noticed and did not care - not much better.....
If no one has told, get a quality home inspection and follow that if it leads to other issues.
In other words, pay a little money to find out about any potential and perhaps not obvious issues with the house. Often the seller will pay to make such repairs - unless a large issue is discovered...
The mixers actually seem to help enough to notice. I have added one to each keg. Two was too much - so, give them a try. Easy to install - just remove the post and drop it in.
