Collecting Snow To Use as Water

Ha, my homebrew buddy and I made a Bavarian hefeweizen a couple weeks ago after a huge dump of snow. The locale was well away from the city, but there was probably a fair amount of wood smoke particles in the snow since it was cold. Also, there was a couple rocks and a leaf...so I must have...

    Induction kettle?

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but with the recent BYO induction a article, I think it is worth it. I tested a bunch of pots out at my local homebrew shop. The Bayou Classic 32 quart tri-ply pot is magnetic (lower grade, higher carbon, lower nickel) stainless steel. A stir bar magnet stuck...

Basic Brewing: Low-Tech Lagering and Decoction Mashing

Anyone have advice on what kind of pump to use? I went to Lowe's and saw a few options, but the only ones that were cheap didn't seem like they would go very high (i.e. have enough force to push the water through lots of tubing). Drilling some holes probably would be better, but I would rather...

"Keezer Soze" (yet another keezer build)

Nice project! It is also great to see someone else taking their time on beer project, if not by choice, then due to respect for family budget and good design :) Cheers!

Chicory Java Stout? amounts of chicory?

I am looking to brew one too. Tried to get DFH's tonight, but the local HBS was already out, boo hoo! Good luck, report back on what you try :)
