I'd like to take a taste, but it's still very slightly bubbling

Heh. Yes. It tastes a bit like watery apple juice with a bit of something extra. But even that pleases me. I was expecting it to gag me, but it did not do that. I feel better having gotten out a glass and tasted it (lack of flavor not withstanding), It was like finally scratching an itch...

I'd like to take a taste, but it's still very slightly bubbling

Thanks. Just pulled out a good sized cup (It ended up being a coffee mug rather than a teacup). I don't care for wine from grapes, and this had a bit of a winey scent, but the taste is super mild and even brand new, it's drinkable. I'll go ahead and bottle it on the second weekend in July...

I'd like to take a taste, but it's still very slightly bubbling

I'm making EdWort's apfelwein, and despite the concoction having been set up five weeks ago, there are still a few bubbles coming out of the ex-juice. I'd say the airlock lets off a very slight gurgle every minute or ninety second, not even enough pressure to push all the vodka from the tube...

    Flavoring Cider

I don't know if you work in advertising, but if that was part of your ad copy, I would _rush_ to the store and buy some.

    airlock suck up, help!

Ha. You asked a question that I anticipate asking in a while. I just jumped into this thing, not realizing I'll be bottling the wine via a siphon. I put the carboy in an out of the way place - under the big fish tank. So now, be fore bottling, I'm going to have to move it to a table or...

What the heck, everyone is talking about Ed Worts' Apflewein...

I have nothing to contribute, as I'm a noob. I did start my first batch of Apfelwein on the fifteenth of this month. Just looked at it today and it's still very very gently bubbling, and starting to clear a bit. Oh, and my associates at work have answered the call and are steadily bringing...

    Introducing myself

Thanks for the tip and the welcome. I'm going to check it out and then go back and find out what malts are, what sparging is, what an infusion mash is, &c. I'm entirely ignorant about all things beer, except that I love to drink it.

    Johnny Jump Up Cider

I'm pleased to see I'm not the only Christy Moore fan in these parts.

    Introducing myself

Thanks. I like the lighter tasting India Pale Ales that I've had, and I like Rolling Rock and Rolling Rock Light (my affinity for which has many times been mocked by beer guys, but I'm old enough now that I don't care much whether I'm cool or not. ;) ) I just don't care for really strong...

    Introducing myself

Hi there. I posted a question last night (that was handily answered) and wanted to post my introduction. I've liked drinking my whole life, but just a few days ago decided to try making a beverage. Apfelwein looked pretty straightforward and a good, simple choice for getting started...

I'm sorry to post a question the second I join, but I need help.

Done! Thanks you all. I followed your advice, and cleaned it, re-sanitized, and replaced it. I don't know what a blow tube is, but I'm going to find out. I sort of jumped into this precipitously, and I usually don't do that (I'm boringly methodical), but I took my summer vacation this week...

I'm sorry to post a question the second I join, but I need help.

I set up EdWort's apfelwein yesterday afternoon, and it's bubbling like mad. Yay. I just peeked at it, though, and it's gotten a bit foamy, and a small portion of the foam has crept up the tube of the vapor lock (I'm using one of the S shaped ones) and now the vodka is quiet cloudy...
