I didn't read through all the pages. Is it possible to do this with a single infusion rather than stepping the temperatures? If so, what temp should be used?
I'm brewing this for the second time tomorrow, both times will be with 3522. I really enjoy it - nice and simple and I can enjoy a couple without getting smashed. It's nice to have a Belgian brew on tap and not have to pay the crazy prices for Belgian beers at the store. I'm curious if anyone...
You can assume a production date of 4 months prior, so November 3rd. Plug that date into your favorite yeast calculator and it will tell you the percent viability. Looks like you made a starter, so assuming you're good to go.
Yes, I've always batch sparged, but never ran into this issue. I hit my numbers right on, so not sure what to attribute it to. I'll have no problem finishing the keg, but it's interesting how something like lack of head retention and lacing can impact the overall experience. I'd never thought of...
I've been brewing for several years and this is the first time I've brewed a beer that has essentially no head retention, nor lacing. The taste is good, if not a bit sweet for my liking, but the head disappears like that of a Coke when poured from the keg. It's been on CO2 for a few weeks, so it...
I tried Younger once, back in 2007 and without any lines or crowds to contend with. It was worth a try, but I prefer Elder and Blind Pig, as both are more drinkable.
I was in Santa Rosa last weekend, but avoided RR for obvious reasons. It would have been nice to get a growler fill of...
It's definitely good, but so are many of the beers at RR if you can make it to the pub. Their Belgians are fantastic. Someone above referenced Pliny as being difficult to find at the pub, but I've never found this to the be case, at least concerning the draft version.
I did a bit of searching, but couldn't find what I'm looking for. I'm looking to purchase pH buffer tablets (4.0 and 7.0), but don't need to buy 50-100 of them. Anyone have a source for these?
Thanks
First time brewing this and just poured myself a partial goblet as I was filling the keg - Wow! Very similar in appearance and taste to Pliny. I can't wait until this is carbed so that I can enjoy it properly. Thanks again, BM. Your recipes never disappoint!
