Would this work for speed control on an AC Motor?

    Spa Panel Wiring for Dummies

TYPO!!! A basic example: 240V * 50 Amps = 12,000 Watts. By the way that's a lot!! Still a good deal for GFCI protection. You can still get the GFCI protection you need, even if you hook it up to a breaker in your main/house breaker box that is smaller amperage. My $0.02

    Soldering Stainless steel

I am looking for ideas to solve a small problem. The first solder I did the joint was fairly tight and the solder stayed at the joint. The second joint wasn't so tight so solder flowed through onto the threads of the fitting. Has anybody found a material to back and plug up the backside...

    Beerquarium

I use two aquarium heaters and two submersible pumps. The pumps are always on and create a consistent temperature of water throughout. The heaters are cranked all the way on, and controlled with a separate temp probe and thermostat. It's a good idea to somehow keep the heaters from coming...

    Soldering Stainless steel

Finally!!! :rockin: It's not pretty at all, but I finally got a good solder all the way around. I soldered a washer to a street elbow for a bulkhead fitting. My 5 keys to success: 1. Oatey liquid soldering flux (clear liquid), when it boils off, it pulls the contaminants off of the pieces in...

    Wiring a 12v cooling fan.

Did the fans spin? If so, either the transformer is either mislabeled, or the fans have some diodes in them which basically convert the ac to dc. Either way the amp output of the transformer is a little low to run both fans at the same time. This transformer will probably run hot if you let...

    Welding

Maybe consider renting one vs. buy? Unless you have a lot of other plans for a welder.

Ideas for building HLT "elevator" in 3 tier rig...

I bought a nice, cheap ($20) system for lifting and hanging a deer carcass. System includes a set of pulleys, rope, metal bar for lifting/hanging deer (or a large kettle) and a rope locking mechanism. Of course you need some way to attach it to your ceiling joists (open joists in my garage)...

What would it take to build a web-accessible temp monitor?

I don't think the output from a 1-wire sensor is "human readable", that is, it needs to be decoded and formated for normal person to read. Am I correct? Edit: The software from the vendor might take care of some of that. Can the software export readable data?

    Keezer with Plexi?

Two layers of clear plastic, maybe. Then you would have a insulating barrier. Top and bottom capped by wood?

Do you have any pictures you could post? Thanks.

What would it take to build a web-accessible temp monitor?

SSR's maybe, might need an intermediate SSR before driving a big one. In my design I need to switch an electromagnetic contactor relay. In that case I definitely need an intermediate SSR. I think the issue is that although each of the eight digital outs can drive a certain milliamp, the whole...

What would it take to build a web-accessible temp monitor?

I like these, uses digital one-wire temp sensors, cell phone charger for power supply. Eight digital temp sensors. Programmable output.
